I thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon excursion with my dear and temporarily disabled friend, Tina, who keeps things fun in spite of a broken leg, crutches, and a wheelchair.   I was also reminded to have gratitude for my own healthy mobile legs.

Home Cooking

It feels like it's been months since Meg and I have been home together to cook dinner.  Tonight, I'm grateful to be home at a decent dinner hour, for Adele on the iPod, healthy food in the fridge, and a night of relaxing in the kitchen with my Meg and our four fur babies.

Trailblazin'

Felt so grateful for this early morning hike with my favorite beasties who have been  patiently waiting for some much needed time in the woods.  We found some new trails, and it was pure bliss to be lost in the fresh crisp air, and the trees with their changing leaves. (Totally worth the mildly sprained ankle, and the 15 ticks I removed from the three of us!)

Candlelit Surprise

So sweet to come home to a candlelit dinner, prepared by my love, who is thankfully, coughing a lot less (and feeling more like her romantic self!) 

Work Hard, Play Hard

Thanks to Fergie on this busy working weekend to take time for play.  It's a tough job, but she's definitely up for the challenge.

Bedside Healing

Our family's remedy for pneumonia: 1 pullout couch + 2 snuggly dogs. Meg should be feeling better in no time.

It's the season for weddings, and each one is uniquely beautiful. I was inspired by one of the readings that Mickie and Casey chose for their ceremony today - The Art of Marriage, and realized my own gratitude for the gift of my Meg and our marriage.

For eight years I've been given the gift of watching this tree from my big bright windows at my office home.  I always love this week in particular, when I look out and see her limbs have burst into gorgeous red and orange leaves.

Grand Army Plaza

So grateful for this whirlwind trip to NY - it was a beautiful day for catching up with old friends, walking in the park, visiting this gorgeous historic site (and of course, re-inacting  When Harry Met Sally moments), indulging in real New York bagel sandwiches, and having some fun with my love.

I'm grateful that Meg always offers to drive at night.  I'm so enjoying this mini road trip and these New York lights.

October Sky

I am so in love with this time of year.  Crisp air, intense skylines, magical light, and days that shift as quickly as the clouds.  I was able to snap this photo on a walk with my pups, just before this half blue, half black sky broke into a warm autumn rain.

Productive

Two unexpected cancellations this morning allowed me some much needed administrative time at my office today.  It felt great to be so productive and to be giving some attention to various things that have fallen through the cracks.  I literally did a happy dance after FINALLY taking the time to look up my old thermostat instruction manual online and learn how to program it for the winter.  Hooray!

Gypsy Soup

Feeling thankful for the Moosewood Cookbook and a yummy recipe for Gypsy Soup on this crisp autumn afternoon.  Especially grateful that I found all of the ingredients I needed in my garden and in my cabinets!

Wedding Dinner

So grateful for our dear friends, Mary and Kerry, for this beautiful wedding gift - a delicious home-cooked meal, served at this beautifully set table.  So many special touches, including 8 candles and the elephant table linen for fertility and good fortune!
