Chocolate Sprinkle

What better way to celebrate our new sister-in-law to be, Heather, than with a surprise "Sprinkle" at the Melting Pot.  So SWEET!

Little Kisses

A visit with Lee and Andrew ended with an impromptu photo shoot with this happy, sweet little guy.  His kisses for the camera were irresistible, and more importantly, helped my dear friend find her smile.

Therapy

Beginning my day with my garden felt like therapy today.  I had been holding on to a stressful situation the past few days and just couldn't get it to move through me.  Armed with a morning off and and some gardening shears, I spent an hour weeding, clearing, harvesting, composting, and savoring the sweet, nostalgic smell of tomato plants.  I came back inside with three bagfuls of tomatoes and greens, feeling so much lighter and clearer.  I give thanks to the tomatoes for helping me work through my stuck energy.

Half Full

This happy and thoughtful gift greeted me on the table when I came home - a wedding present from one of Meg's clients. I am in love with the orange pattern on these mugs and feeling so blessed for all of the generosity and support Meg and I have received.

Jack and Leo

This little family has crawled inside of my heart so unexpectedly - our new friends and photographers, Isabel and Chris, and their two unbelievable kids, Jack and Leo.  These boys have got something special, and Meg and I are totally in love.  We received two gifts tonight - one of our gorgeous engagement prints, and reading bedtime stories with Jack and Leo.

Kids and Dogs

Feeling so full of love and gratitude for this family weekend in New Bedford.  Meg and I thought we'd give Maureen an early birthday present - a NAP, while we took the two kids and three dogs to the playground.  Dogs + kids = a blissfully fun afternoon!

Love Fest

I got to spend time with one of my all-time favorite families and my camera this afternoon at our doula visit for baby number 2!  It was nearly impossible to choose just one image from this totally fun and adorable photo shoot. The joy just pours out of this sweet trio, and our doula meeting felt much more like a love fest.

Shabbat

Gratitude and love to the Neiman-Nickels' for inviting us to share in a yummy and festive shabbat dinner this evening.  The company was great, the pear martinis were fab, and the bread made us want to "challah"!

Horticulture

Perkins School for the Blind is a pretty amazing place.  Today, I visited Meg at the greenhouse where she has taken over the horticulture class for the preschool.  I was enchanted by the many beautiful and exotic plants growing in the greenhouse, and especially fell in love with the outdoor herb and vegetable garden.  While exploring the fragrant scents and various textures of all of these plants, I felt so grateful that I also get to enjoy them all with my vision.

Mums

The mums are out! I love that these blooms thrive during a time when all of our surroundings begin to cool, darken, and die away.  Definitely an autumn highlight!

Thank You Card

I received the sweetest note in the mail today - a thank you card created from a photo that I took of this newborn baby girl from her momma.  So nice to hear from her and to be appreciated for this work that I love.

Rozzy

A sweet invitation from friends to toast our recent nuptials brought me to Roslindale Center for the first time.  With it's adorable little shops, brick and cobblestone streets, and yummy restaurants, I totally fell in love with "Rozzy".

Outdoor Seating

Taking a moment to enjoy my lunch break and give thanks outside on this crisp almost fall day.

Rock Band

The Hallowell Siblings + Play Station + The Beatles = one fun and hilarious Rock Band evening.

Healing Touch

A visit from our amazing vet always makes for a relaxing afternoon.  Melinda's kind wisdom and healing touch has helped our little Fergie so much, and her calming presence has therapeutic benefits for all.

Blessed

Upon opening my refrigerator this morning, I was really hit with how blessed I am to have a fridge full of fresh whole foods.  I am reminded to give thanks daily for this privilege and I vow to eat all of these amazing veggies this week without letting anything go bad.

Second Time Around

I finally had some time to sit with these photos of my awesome doula client, her sweet husband, and her adorable belly.  I am so happy and honored to support this family again, on their second journey through pregnancy and birth.

Melt

Taking a shower at night is such a luxury.  So grateful for some extra long hydrotherapy, hot relaxing water, lavender soap, and nothing left to do but melt into bed.

Little Cesar

We had some fun visitors at the dog park today - 4 year-old Allana, and her twin 2-year old sisters, Arden and Kerry.  They took the field by storm, and our pups had a blast playing keep-away with the tennis ball.  Allana was a natural dog whisperer and not afraid to show the dogs who was boss.  After whipping the ball with the chuck-it, she would then put a hand on her hip, hold her other out in a "stop" sign and command Fergie to "Drop It."  Kids and dogs were all happily tired by the end.

Bus Ride

We took the bus into Boston. I thought it was pretty romantic.

Backseat Driver

I think today was the first time I've ever spent a day with just Amaia. With her big sister at school and her mom and auntie all to herself, this little girl is an absolute dynamo! My heart feels so full from an afternoon of her wild giggles, her hilarious and charming personality, her sweet chatty voice, her fierce snuggles, and her big happy smiles. I love this kid so hard.

Pigeon Pose

Luna spent the day with me at work - I love coming out of each session to find her curled up like a little baby bird.  Such a peaceful day at the office.

Soup Kitchen

What a sweet and wonderful thing to come home after a long day to find my wife in the kitchen making her amazing chicken soup.  Delish.

05 September 2011

Herring Cove

A perfect way to end our short but sweet visit to the tip of the Cape - a glorious beach day at Herring Cove.  It was an afternoon full of wave-jumping, rainbow rock collecting, sun-worshipping, and beach-blanket snuggling.  It's been a fabulous getaway - and we both feel ready and excited to settle into a new married life back at home.

Shenanigans

I think one of the things I love most about Meg is that she makes me laugh every single day.  I'm grateful that she balances my often serious, cautious side by keeping things fun and spontaneous.  We had such a blast biking around P-town today, combing through the Marine  surplus store, admiring the dogs and the drag queens, walking on the beach, and of course, indulging in our favorite foods.  I love how time slows down when you're in P-town - it feels like we've been here for a week!

Mini-moon

Thus begins an entire weekend of newlywed bliss (and lots of self-photos!) in Provincetown.  So grateful to finally have a chance to relax with my wife (oh that feels so GREAT to say!) and enjoy some quality time together on this gorgeous first day of our mini-honeymoon.

Safe and Sound

I was thrilled to welcome six-day-old Phoebe to the world today.  This special little girl has already brought much joy and healing to her family, and I was grateful she finally arrived, safe and sound.
