Coffee by the Charles

So grateful for Jenna and our spontaneous sister date today - morning coffee and lots of catching up while sitting by the Charles River.  What a great way to start this long beautiful weekend!

Bed

It was a full week and a busy day. Tonight I feel especially grateful for a comfortable bed, and if the doula goddesses allow, a full night of sleep!

Chihuly and Dad

My Dad and I had some much needed quality time at the MFA today, and were blown away by Chihuly's blown glass exhibit.  I loved having an entire day with my Dad, and feel so grateful that we got to see this amazing art while it visits Boston.

In Da Crib

I love taco night and winning at cribbage.

Glow

The best part of living without the sun for so long, is having her return.   This gorgeous glowing orb was barely recognizable today when she made her reappearance.  I took a moment this evening to snap her photo and give her thanks, just in case she decides to go missing again.

Family Dinner

It's so rare that we get an opportunity to sit down to dinner as a family.

Tiny Dancer

I had the absolute joy of being the official photographer for two exciting events today - Olivia's first dance recital, and Carly's bridal shower.  It was such a happy day!  While I enjoyed taking lots of beautiful photos at each, there was no competition for the gratitude blog.  I bawled my eyes out watching my honorary 4-year-old niece make her ballet debut (third from the left for the viewers out there).  It seems like only yesterday that she was a tiny baby...I was so proud of this tiny dancer, and BIG star on stage today! 

Night Nurses

Our little Fergamuffin was so sick tonight, and while cleaning up puppy puke is on my list of least favorite things to do, it was very sweet to find Meg and Bad Boy taking care of her in the kitchen.

Sunny Side Up

Oh, this baby girl made quite an entrance into our world today!  Her momma worked long and hard to give her the safest birth possible, yet this strong-willed babe insisted on staying in a position that made it difficult to come the old-fashioned way.  Well, they don't call it sunny-side up for nothing - this perfect little sweetheart was pink, radiant, and beautiful to behold.  I was grateful to see mom and baby nursing happily together before I left them.  Ironically, when I left the hospital, the sun was shining for the first time this week.

Muddy

The rain (finally!) took a break this week, so the girls and I headed straight for the reservoir for some fresh air and exercise.  Fergie even took her first brave steps in the water and enjoyed a dip with her big sis to wash off all the mud.

Cheese, Tarot, and Cheese

We celebrated Buddha's (belated) birthday with a little wine, a lot of delicious cheese, and with Tarot readings from a brilliantly intuitive woman!  I really enjoyed the company, meeting some new fabulous women, hearing what my exciting future holds (!), and indulging in one of my old favorite treats.

Birthy

At the annual Partners in Perinatal Health Conference today, I felt very moved by the collective energy of these many dedicated women - each one of us doing our part to help mamas and babies have healthy pregnancies and births.  

Slow Dance

Adele playing on the iPod while a late dinner cooks and Meg's hat backwards (swoon) means it was one of those slow-dancing-in-the kitchen kind of nights.

She had my heart and soul, at the House of Blues tonight with a breathtaking performance.  Amazing!

Bumps

These beautiful mamas and their baby bumps were the center of attention at a sweet baby shower today.  Can't wait to meet my friend Tara's baby on the outside, soon!

Gardening Day

My heart is so full of love and gratitude for these women, and this day!  My angels, Jill and Elsa, descended upon the front yard bearing gifts of seeds, seedlings, earth, tools, laughter, sunshine, and lots of lovingkindness.  In less than four hours my veggie garden was born, and I feel like a proud new momma watching and caring for these beautiful garden boxes.  I am SO amazed and excited by the miracle of these seeds becoming lush, delicious greens and fruit!

This sweet little scene on our walk around the Charles made me stop and appreciate this moment, and all of the little wild things that live and grow all around us.

Good Fortune

My favorite Thai restaurant is under new management. When I picked up my dinner, the hostess offered me an elephant, for good fortune. Armed with my yummy dinner and my surprise orange elephant, I feel more fortunate already.

Endorphins

I'd like to thank Pandora, and some pretty awesome endorphins for keeping me on the treadmill tonight.

Patience

My Lunabug came to work with me today - she was so patient while I returned phone calls and emails, waiting for me to take her for a run. I love having her company and her sweet energy at the office.

All The Girls

This year, Mother's Day was filled with the things that matter most - quality family time, lots of laughter, sunshine, and LOVE.  I am so proud to be a part of this amazing family, and so grateful to have a mom who taught us how to love this big.

Sweet Stuff

I was so thrilled to have a surprise visit with Carron, Kim, and super sweet 7month old Addie at the dress shop today. Her little giggle is too cute for words!

Little Mama

Today little Fergie was spayed - Meg and I were two nervous parents, trying to be calm for her but also feeling so much love and worry about her having surgery. She did great, of course, and even gave her big sister some tail wags when she got home. I am so happy this little girl has joined our family pack. I can't imagine life without her snuggles.

Blushing

My bridesmaid duties brought me on a field trip with Carly to visit her dress.  (I hope this doesn't count as a wedding gown spoiler - I just couldn't help but post this sweet photo of the stunning bride to be!)   I was surprised by how much fun I actually had seeing my friend delight in her princess dress, trying on sparkly jewelry, and of course, taking photos galore.  She was positively beaming, and was so beautiful, the happiness was contagious! 

Sweet Rice

So grateful for a generous gift from Meg's Dad and Thai Lan - a new rice cooker and these these gorgeous little bowls.  The rice and the gratitude was abundant!

Frolic

Oh, how I LOVE warm spring days, the return of green grass, my two little white goats, and lunch breaks at the dog park!

Apple and Tree

Meg's dad arrived today from Florida.  It's really sweet to see Meg and her Dad together, and listen to them reminisce about their family and her childhood years.  This little apple didn't fall too far from her tree.

Jenna

Today we celebrated 30 years of this amazing woman with delicious appetizers, wine, flowers, kids and decadent CAKE!  I am so grateful for this gorgeous sister, best friend, memory keeper, voice of reason, beautiful soul, and so incredibly proud of all that she has become.  Thank you for being born, dear Jenna.
